Double Jacketed Gasket
Metal - jacketed gaskets are particularly suitable for sealing flat surfaces of heat exchangers, gas pipes, cast iron flanges, autoclaves and similar. The heat exchanger gaskets come in a wide spectra of types including single or double jacketed, corrugated, plain metal etc. Soft compressible material can be PTFE, Non-Asbestos, Graphite & Ceramic.
PROPERTIES AND APPLICATION
The sealing efficiency of these gaskets, provided by exerting strong pressure on circular rims of the flanges, metal - jacketed gaskets can stand up to 30% deviation from the initial thickness, which is very useful in case of irregular or faulty flange rims. The chemical compatibility of the metal and the medium being sealed should be considered.
Advantages
- Withstand high assembly stress.
- High resistance against blow-out.
A "Heat Exchanger Gasket" is a term that has been given to the gasket that is called out for use in an exchanger. The make up of the gasket or type varies due to the operating conditions of the exchanger.
Types of Jacketed Gaskets
- Single Jacketed Gasket
- Double Jacketed Gasket
- Corrugated Metal Jacketed Gasket with Graphite on Top & Bottom
